Welcome/Introductions
Discussion
Several available grants were discussed. Volunteers are needed to help; contact Ben at president@upperfellspoint.org.
The Community Health and Safety Works Grant - Up to $100K is available for collaborations that: a) engage artists and designers to create lovable spaces for community use; b) eliminate predatory and unhealthy practices such as illegal dumping, litter and traffic hazards and other conditions; c) remove illegal and dangerous activities from communities by using lighting and camera surveillance strategies and related community safety services. Also grants up to $250K are available for place-based comprehensive outreach and case management services that directly connect at-risk individuals to safe, restorative pathways.
The Johns Hopkins Neighborhood Fund Grant - Up to $15K is available. This would include community revitalization, education, employment, health and public safety.

Beautification

Tree pruning and cleanup on Feb. 24th.
No March cleanup; the next one will be at Dumpster Day on April 6th.
Community Garden

Due to turnover, were able to add six new plots this year. There are now 32 gardeners and the waitlist is down to eight people.
There will be a Sip & Plant Swap and Cycle Tour at the garden on April 28th to celebrate spring and Earth Day.
Education

Wolfe St. Academy has submitted a grant to have a mural painted on the playground wall; they hope to receive approval in April.
Commodore John Rodgers needs volunteers to help with homework and career mentors.
FUND-RAISING

Bingo was a great success.
Upcoming events will be a block party with a new Billie Holiday mural unveiling this summer, possibly a family-friendly movie, moving the Regester St. planters with an auction of the signage and tentatively, the Progressive Dinner to be held in November.
Land-Use

The next committee meeting will be on March 11th.
Safety (sub-committee)

Health & Safety Works Grant – Lights and safety camera installations are underway and several more Memorandum of Understandings (MOU’s) have been signed.
There have been two incident requests so far (bike theft at Gough and S Ann and shooting on Bank and S Broadway).
