Hybrid Meeting
Over 50 people attended in-person and virtually.
Thanks to the Ministry of Brewing for hosting our hybrid format and to everyone for their patience with sound issues and to Tom, Lynnie and Mallory for technical assistance.
President - Welcome
Everyone was welcomed and new attendees introduced themselves.

Officer Reports
Vice President Brian M. is resigning for personal reasons but plans to stay on until a new VP is elected.
Guest Speaker
Nan Nawrocki of Sail Baltimore
Gave a presentation of the upcoming Fleet Week and Flyover Baltimore (9/7-13)
Ships will be at the Inner Harbor (West Shore Park by Visitor Center and The Aquarium) and Fell’s Point with flyovers every two hours. (No Blue Angels.)
Sail Baltimore (formerly called Operation Sail) is a nonprofit organization and the City’s official organization for bringing visiting ships to Baltimore
Volunteers and donations always needed; more at Sail Baltimore.
Votes:
Motion: To elect Tom Koerber as Election Judge for the special election for a Vice President which will be held in August; motion passed unanimously (Note: Brian M. has resigned due to personal reasons. The VP nominee will fill the remainder of the term which runs through May 2023.) (For more details see New Business below.)

Traffic & Parking

The UFPIA received a grant of $8,000 from the Johns Hopkins Neighborhood Fund (JHNF) for our traffic calming project with Art in the Right Of Way (ROWArt); however, it was less than what is needed
Currently working through engineering permits and plans; will be months before we can start painting
Will be raising more funds at the Oktoberfest at the garden (October 15th from 4-7pm); details coming soon
Summer school is in session at Wolfe Street Academy; obey the parking signs or you will be ticketed; temporary reminder signs have been posted
Social Events

National Night Out - August 2nd on the 300 blk of S Chapel Street from 6:30-8:30PM
Event to include photographer Thomas C. Scilipoti; Broadway wood carver; ice cream truck; massages by Spa Adagio; kids activities; face painting; raffle; music; police and fire dept staff (hope to have the fire truck too) and food for purchase (cash or Venmo only)
New Business:
Technical help is still needed so we can continue the hybrid format; if available or interested, contact Bill (no experience necessary).
Special VP Election
Tom Koerber elected as Election Judge for the special election for a Vice President which will be held in August (see Vote section above)
Wendy Bozel is a candidate for Vice President. Anyone else who is interested in running should contact Tom at electionjudge@upperfellspoint.org.
A list of candidates will be in the August newsletter and nominations also will be taken from the floor at the August meeting prior to the vote.
Baltimore City Council Bill 22-0238 proposes to change the Office of the Inspector General Advisory Board so no elected officials, designees, employees of city or state government or lobbyists are on the Board. It also changes the process for appointment of the members.
Petition to reduce property tax in Baltimore over 6 years
Need at least 10,000 signatures to be on the ballot in November

Cameras can be registered with BPD but block captains do not have to register
Do your part to stop crime
Reminder - have packages delivered to a UPS Access Point (such as Pratt Liquors, Enchanted Nails or Tochterman's)
Composting
Need at least 25 houses to participate in curbside composting pickup

To vote on issues at a meeting, you must have paid your current dues (based on calendar year beginning in January), attended 2 of the preceding 11 meetings, live in our boundaries and be age 18 and/or attended UFPIA sponsored events/activities per our Meeting & Voting Regulations.
