Wolfe-Washington Bikeway Study
Your input on the Wolfe-Washington Bikeway Study is needed by October 15!
Currently, the proposed bikeway is to be on Washington Street which will become a single lane of vehicular traffic. It will be a protected dual track connecting Clifton Park (Sinclair Lane) to Fells Point (Aliceanna Street). Also, Wolfe Street is to have bump-outs and flex posts.
The proposed Dept. of Transportation (DOT) bump-outs and flex posts for Wolfe Street will NOT slow traffic if no vehicles are turning. YOUR COMMENTS ARE REQUESTED TO LET THE BALTIMORE CITY DOT KNOW OF MEANINGFUL CALMING MEASURES FOR WOLFE STREET.
Some suggestions to slow down traffic are to:
-Make targeted speeds 15-20 mph on Washington/Wolfe
-Turn traffic signals on Wolfe/Washington into 4-way flashing red
-Reduce Washington/Wolfe to a single lane of vehicular traffic with angled parking
-Include bump-outs on the Wolfe/Washington bikeway intersections to reduce the open roadway needed for pedestrians to cross
-Add traffic humps
